February Blue

Life is about blues for me these days.

Not 'The Blues' like jazz & blues, muscial influence or genre (I am completely unmusical beyond putting together a wicked mix on my ipod).

And not the 'blues,' as in I've got a case of them.

Blues. The colour.

All the shades; the deepest blues of the ocean, vibrant as peacocks, and the palest of winter & ice.

I have ordered so many shades of blue beads over the last few weeks that my sanity may be called into question!

Facebook Fan Giveaway!

My facebook group is so close to reaching that elusive 100 fans mark that I can't resist celebrating with a contest!

http://www.facebook.com/?ref=logo#!/pages/Fredericton-NB/Darling-Dilemma/256573437095?ref=nf

Between now and March 5th, recommend my facebook fanpage to your friends. Every time your friends join my page, leave a comment here for me with their name(s). The fan who recommends the most new fans will win a One Of a Kind necklace made by me. This will be a unique, never up for sale piece to be announced March 6th, along with the winner's name! If two people recommend to the same person, I will let that person decide who swayed them.

Some of you may have already sent your friends my way, so please feel free to 'claim' those friends now! (also no defanning and then rejoining allowed.. not that you ever would want to!)

New fans may join the contest at any time!

So Let's Try This...

So let's just try this blogging thing out!
It is my first attempt so please bear with me my friends and readers!

I want to start just by telling you a little about me; who I am, what I do and why I'm here (in the blogging sense, not the big picture kinda way).

So... I am Emma Dilemma. It is somewhat debated (mostly between my father and I) about the origins of my name. I think it was a babysitter who gave me the name but he seems to remember my Uncle Greg using it first. Regardless, it happened at about the age of 5 and has stuck this long.

I have 2 art school diplomas, an 11 year old son and a 5 year long marriage. I teach children art and spend all of my spare time (and yes after all of that there is still some!) beading.

Beads have been an obsession of mine since I was a darling young thing. Rolling them between my fingers, making friendship pins in the 80's, moving on to long strings of 'hippie' beads while in high school and then rediscovering them, with a renewed passion over the last few years and combining them with my now well tuned, art school knowledge of colour and my own particular sense.
I have recently opened my own online shop, experienced a tiny bit of success with it and a huge pile of pride.
